A seasonal colour name introduced in 1936 to describe a blue colour found in Chinese silks.
Nanjing formerly romanized as Nanking and Nankin, was the largest city in the world from 1358 to 1425 with a population of 487,000 in 1400. This lovely bright blue has been used for many centuries.
