BRITISH COLOUR STANDARD-Aconite Yellow No.55

A bright, energetic yellow from our historic colour dictionary and another inspired once more from flowers, as so many of our historic colours are.

Aconites are a member of the buttercup family, native to southern Europe and east across Asia to Japan.

The common name comes from the early flowering time and the resemblance of the leaves of the leaves to those of the related genus Aconitum, the true aconite.
